Artist's Comments

Plz pay close attention to the water, that's why I made this in the first place. My next deviation (I don't really consider this a deviation, it'll be moved to scraps later) will be a contest entry & =RipfangDragon has given me plenty of time (:blowkiss: thanks!), so I'm using most of it to practice my digital painting skills of which my friend/tutor/rival *Blanke has gotten far ahead of me. Today I was practicing painting water & this came out pretty well, I may even make a tutorial since I had to figure this out myself.

I think the water looks cool dark water around storms and such is my forte though so good luck in the contest

I think the water looks great so far; the only problem is, everything else looks too plain and simple in comparison. I'd recommend filling in the sky as a gradient instead of a solid color; skies gradually get lighter as they draw closer to the horizon, so it can go from the blue you have here, to a slightly lighter one. It's subtle, but little variances like that can make a huge difference. Don't be afraid to add in new colors with the sun, too, like some goldish oranges. I wish I could say more, but I don't know too much about making backgrounds without lineart. ^^;
